Hudson Ward Blessing

A spiritual blessing has been held at Sydney Adventist Hospital, to celebrate the relocation of Hudson Ward in Clifford Tower to a new home on Level 9 of the building.

Addressing nurses, Hospital Executive and other staff, Chief Operations and Nursing Executive Clare Lumley recognised those responsible for overseeing the project and ensuring the smooth transition.

Nurse Unit Manager Todd Moy gave an overview of the project, highlighting some of the move's benefits, and acknowledging the efforts of staff.

“We have had some challenging days throughout the New Year, but the ward re-opened on the 30th of April. Moving forward we aim to incorporate vascular patients and upskill staff with telemetry. Nursing is ever evolving and as a team we will strive to do our best and increase our clinical competency,” he said.

Chaplain Arthur Hudson then delivered a short blessing.

“I thank you that there is a group of people here in Butler ward, who do what they do and do it well. I ask that you bless this place and bless this team so that staff unity and identity may flourish,” said Chaplain Hudson.

The specialties of the ward remain the same, with the addition of Vascular Surgery.  The decision to relocate the specialties from Hudson Ward was made in order to make use of the existing enhanced patient monitoring capabilities available on Butler Ward.
